Michael Mayo, a 30-year-old white male, died on April 21, 2014, in Dallas, TX, following a police-involved shooting. The incident began when undercover officers spotted Mayo and a female companion in a vehicle outside a motel in the 3300 block of Marvin D. Love Freeway. The officers detected the smell of marijuana and ran a check on Mayo, discovering he had active felony warrants. When the officers approached, Mayo attempted to flee, nearly striking an officer with his car.
