Christopher Smith, aged 28, was killed on September 27, 2012, in Jacksonville, Florida, during a home invasion at his apartment. Two intruders forced their way into the residence, leading to a tragic outcome. At the time of the incident, there were four people inside the apartment, including a child. Despite the opportunity to flee through a back door, Christopher chose not to leave without ensuring the safety of everyone in the apartment. He was shot multiple times and was rushed to Orange Park Community Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Christopher's case remains unsolved, and the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has continued to seek assistance from the public in solving this homicide. The family of Christopher believes that he may have known the individuals responsible for his death. His generous nature and willingness to treat everyone like family are remembered by his loved ones, who think this might have made him vulnerable that night.
The family, deeply affected by the loss, chose to hold a celebration of life in his memory rather than a traditional funeral. They shared stories of Christopher's vibrant personality, often called "Hollywood" for his charisma and ability to light up a room.
