Anthony Deon Lockett, 39, a Black man, was found shot late on a quiet Sunday morning in Dallas' Cedar Crest area, where the 1300 block of Morrell Avenue slopes past small homes and storefronts. Officers were dispatched just after 10:20 a.m. on August 31, 2025; when they arrived, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
