David Lemus, a 21-year-old male, tragically lost his life on July 24, 2022, in Dallas, Texas. The incident occurred during a house party on Cortez Drive, where a fight escalated into gunfire. Lemus was found dead in an alley behind the home, and two other teenagers were also shot but survived. Gustavo Monreal, 58, was critically injured and later charged with murder and aggravated assault.
Monreal was accused of shooting Lemus and the other two teenagers.
However, police also determined that one of the victims shot Monreal in return. The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed as more information comes to light. Detective Tonya McDaniel is leading the investigation and has urged anyone with information to come forward.
