On February 17, 2024, 28-year-old Larry Pervin Kidd Jr. was fatally shot during an altercation in the 900 block of W. Central Texas Expressway in Killeen, Texas. The incident occurred around 8 p.m., when a dispute escalated, and the suspect brandished a 9mm pistol, shooting Kidd. Emergency responders transported Kidd to the Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
