On March 22, 2024, at approximately 9:20 p.m., 18-year-old Kamari DeShaun Smith-Capps and his best friend, 18-year-old Camren Stacy, were fatally shot in the parking lot of Uncle Lee Grocery Food Market on Dixon Avenue near Scyene Road in Dallas, Texas. Responding officers found Smith-Capps in the driver's seat of a vehicle and Stacy on the ground outside; both had suffered fatal gunshot wounds.
