On May 4, 2024, at approximately 3:26 a.m., Austin Police Department (APD) officers patrolling near Northgate Boulevard and Colony Creek Drive in North Austin responded to an active disturbance. Upon arrival, they discovered 38-year-old Nicholas Taylor lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical services pronounced Taylor deceased at the scene at 3:37 a.m.
