On the evening of June 2, 2024, at approximately 9:35 p.m., Dallas police responded to a shooting incident in the 10300 block of Gardner Road, near the intersection of Northwest Highway and Walton Walker Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered 44-year-old Byron Thompkins suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical services transported Thompkins to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
