On July 16, 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Dallas Police responded to a shooting call in the 4600 block of Lake Avenue, near the medical district. Upon arrival, officers discovered 24-year-old Ashton Barnes inside an apartment, suffering from gunshot wounds. Tragically, Barnes was pronounced dead at the scene.
