On a late Saturday morning, August 24, 2024, the life of 45-year-old Jeremy Rashad Hicks was tragically cut short in Little Rock, Arkansas. Responding to a shooting call at 11:53 a.m., officers from the 12th Street Division arrived at 3612 Foster Street to find Mr. Hicks with apparent gunshot wounds. He was urgently transported to a local hospital by MEMS, but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

Unit promptly began an investigation. They canvassed the neighborhood, seeking witnesses and any available video surveillance that might shed light on the events that transpired. Their preliminary investigation led them to identify 24-year-old Johnny Bailey III as a suspect in the fatal shooting.
A few days later, on August 28, 2024, an arrest was made in connection with the homicide. Johnny Bailey III, of Little Rock, was taken into custody and has since been charged with capital murder. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is ongoing.
Jeremy Hicks, born on May 31, 1979, is survived by his mother, Deborah Hicks, a daughter named Aniyah, a brother, and four sisters. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hicks Sr., and a brother.
