On July 20, 2024, 20-year-old Cesar Peralta was fatally shot at the Thorntree Apartments near Uvalde Road in East Houston, Texas. Responding to reports of gunfire, Harris County Sheriff's deputies discovered Peralta in the apartment complex parking lot, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
