On July 24, 2024, 56-year-old Damon VanCleef Spiller was found deceased in his room at Harmony House, a temporary housing facility for individuals experiencing homelessness in Houston, Texas. Initially, there were no apparent signs indicating the cause of death. However, an autopsy conducted by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences later revealed that Spiller had died from a gunshot wound to the head.
