In the bright morning hours of March 27, 2026, a burst of violence shattered the quiet of a southeast Houston neighborhood, leaving a local man fatally wounded. Jeremy Moore, a 36-year-old man, was found in a parking lot on Rockhill Street, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The call came in to the Houston Police Department at approximately 10:10 a.m., and upon their arrival, patrol officers discovered the grim scene.
Paramedics from the Houston Fire Department worked quickly to
transport Moore to a nearby hospital, but the severity of his injuries proved to be too great. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he was pronounced deceased, turning a hopeful morning into a tragedy for his family and friends. In the days that followed, homicide detectives with the Houston Police Department diligently worked the case. Their investigation led them to identify a suspect in the shooting. On April 10, 2026, members of the HPD's Southeast Patrol Division's Crime Suppression Team located and arrested 20-year-old Willie Gomez. Following his arrest, Gomez was charged with the murder of Jeremy Moore and was subsequently booked into the Harris County jail.
