In August 2024, U.S. Marshals arrested three individuals in connection with Narváez's death. Derrick Griffin, 20, Eddie Coleman, 42, and Vincent Casteel, 58, were taken into custody and charged with capital murder. Investigators linked the suspects to the crime through witness testimonies and video evidence from the scene. Griffin, identified as the alleged gunman, was apprehended on August 23, while Coleman and Casteel had been arrested earlier in the month. Bail amounts were set at $2 million for Griffin and Casteel, and $2.5 million for Coleman.
Estevan Narváez Jr. was remembered as a devoted father, husband, and son who cherished his family and loved the outdoors. He is survived by his parents, Esteban Narváez Sr. and Maria Araguz, his wife, Martha Sanchez, their children, and one grandchild. Funeral services were held at Carrillo Funeral Homes Chapel in Dallas, where family and friends gathered to honor his memory.
