On October 20, 2024, 17-year-old Laurynn Galloway was tragically shot and killed in the parking lot of the Costa Ibiza apartment complex in north Harris County, Houston. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire around midnight and discovered Galloway with multiple gunshot wounds; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigations revealed that Galloway had been involved in an altercation with a man prior to the shooting.
Witnesses indicated that the dispute escalated when the man's girlfriend handed him a firearm, which he then used to shoot Galloway multiple times, even after she had fallen to the ground.
In the aftermath of this tragic event, Galloway's mother, Dorothy, expressed profound grief over the loss of her daughter, describing her as a vibrant and family-oriented individual who had a passion for music and rapping. Dorothy recounted that a friend of Laurynn's, who was on the phone with her during the incident, mentioned that the argument began over a phone and that the shooter was not Laurynn's boyfriend.
