On January 21, 2023, during Lunar New Year celebrations, a tragic mass shooting occurred at the Star Ballroom Dance Studio in Monterey Park, California. Among the victims was 70-year-old Diana Man Ling Tom, a dedicated mother, wife, and grandmother who had a passion for dance. That evening, she was at the studio celebrating with friends when the gunman opened fire, resulting in multiple casualties.
