On March 18, 2023, at approximately 10:00 p.m., San Diego County Sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a shooting in the 2800 block of Lemon Grove Avenue in Lemon Grove, California. Upon arrival, they discovered 39-year-old Gregory Moore unconscious in a vehicle at the intersection of Lemon Grove Avenue and San Miguel Avenue. Moore had sustained gunshot wounds to his left upper leg and lower torso.
Deputies applied a tourniquet to his leg before paramedics transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation into Moore's death led authorities to identify multiple suspects. By November 2024, four individuals had been arrested in connection with the homicide. The suspects include 22-year-old Zahkee Miller, 28-year-old Julio Dulay, 33-year-old Ronald Perry, and 44-year-old Daniel Ethridge. Ethridge was apprehended on November 7, 2024, in St. Paul, Minnesota, on charges of theft and an outstanding warrant for Moore's murder. Law enforcement agencies are coordinating efforts to extradite Ethridge to San Diego to face charges.
In addition to the primary suspects, two other individuals, 30-year-old Alondre Dickerson and 26-year-old Tyrae Carter, have been arrested and charged as accessories in the case. Authorities have not publicly disclosed the motives behind the shooting or the specific roles each suspect played in the crime.
