James McGill Jr., a 27-year-old African American male from Chicago, was tragically killed in a shooting at the Indian Lakes Hotel in Bloomingdale, Illinois, on February 6, 2021. The incident occurred during a large gathering at the hotel, which had been the site of previous disturbances. The shooting took place in the early hours of the morning, around 2:35 a.m., when police responded to reports of gunfire on the fifth floor.
