On March 24, 2023, Aaron Orozco, a 38-year-old Uber driver and Marine Corps veteran from Lynwood, California, was fatally shot while working. Orozco, who had been driving for Uber for several years, picked up two male passengers during his shift. The ride led them to a 7-Eleven parking lot on the 2800 block of Imperial Highway in Lynwood, where a physical altercation ensued between Orozco and the passengers.
