Epifanio Mercado, a 37-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on January 2, 2016, in Lynwood, California. The incident occurred around 12:25 p.m. in the 11500 block of Atlantic Avenue. Mercado, also known by the alias Rodolfo Rojo Melendres, had just exited a florist's shop and was standing next to his pickup truck when an assailant approached him.
