On May 6, 2023, at approximately 4 a.m., 27-year-old Antioch resident and father of two, Mitchell Monroe, was fatally shot while driving in Oakland, California. The incident occurred on the 3900 block of Keller Avenue near the Interstate 580 onramp. After being shot, Monroe's vehicle crashed, and responding officers found him suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate medical attention, he was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
