On May 8, 2023, in Tracy, California, 39-year-old Satbinder Singh was tragically killed alongside her partner, 37-year-old Nadjiba Belaidi. The incident unfolded when Singh's husband, 55-year-old Satnam Sumal, entered the Tracy Police Department around noon and confessed to fatally shooting both women at their shared residence on Sunflower Lane.

Upon receiving Sumal's confession, officers conducted a welfare check at the specified address and discovered the bodies of Singh and Belaidi. Investigations revealed that all three individuals cohabited in the home, and Sumal was aware of the romantic relationship between his wife, Singh, and Belaidi. A firearm, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered from the scene.

Neighbors described the household as generally quiet and were shocked by the events. It was noted that two children under the age of ten also resided in the home but were not present at the time of the incident.

Following his confession, Sumal was arrested and booked into the San Joaquin County Jail, facing two counts of murder. He was scheduled to appear in court shortly after the incident. The community expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy, with authorities emphasizing the rarity and shocking nature of such an event.
