On May 23, 2023, Jennifer Gomez, a 31-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was tragically killed in her home located in the Vermont Knolls neighborhood of South Los Angeles. Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call at approximately 11:50 p.m. in the 8700 block of Vermont Avenue. Upon arrival, they found Ms. Gomez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
