Donniesha Gregory, a 32-year-old woman from Los Angeles, California, tragically lost her life on July 16, 2018. The incident occurred in the Vermont Square neighborhood, specifically in the 4000 block of Dalton Avenue. According to the Los Angeles County coroner’s records, Gregory was shot and killed inside her home. The Los Angeles Police Department’s Southwest Division responded to a call about a shooting around 9:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found Gregory with a gunshot wound, and she was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:03 p.m.
The investigation revealed that minutes before the shooting, Gregory’s ex-boyfriend, Donte Solomon, had driven to her residence and parked outside. Solomon wanted Gregory to come down from her second-floor home, but she refused. In response, Solomon fired shots through her window, fatally wounding her. After the shooting, Solomon fled the scene in a green Camry.
On July 23, 2018, Donte Solomon, a 40-year-old man, was charged with one count of murder, shooting at an inhabited dwelling, and possession of a firearm by a felon. The charges included gang and gun allegations. Solomon’s case was scheduled for a court appearance on September 10, 2018. The investigation into Gregory’s death was handled by the Los Angeles Police Department, and they urged anyone with additional information to come forward.
