Sonia Soto, a 27-year-old Latina, was tragically shot and killed on January 17, 2014, in downtown Los Angeles. Her body was discovered slumped over the steering wheel of her vehicle, which was parked under a bridge near South Santa Fe Avenue and East Sixth Street. The Los Angeles County coroner's records indicated that she died from a gunshot wound to the neck.
