On August 20, 2023, at approximately 6:00 PM, 31-year-old Julian Carillo-Garcia was fatally shot in the 5800 block of Bancroft Avenue in Oakland, California. Upon receiving reports of an individual with an unknown injury, Oakland Police Department (OPD) officers arrived at the scene to find Carillo-Garcia suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
