On October 29, 2023, 44-year-old Sulkhan Singh of Clovis, California, was found deceased in the 1900 block of Planz Road in south Bakersfield. Responding to reports of a man down around 7:45 a.m., officers from the Bakersfield Police Department discovered Singh suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy conducted by the Kern County Coroner's Office determined that Singh died from a gunshot wound to the head, officially ruling his death a
homicide.
Singh was living and working in the United States, providing for his family—a wife, a 13-year-old son, and a 14-year-old daughter—who reside in India. A friend, Deepak Sharma, initiated a fundraiser to support Singh's family following his tragic death.
