On November 4, 2023, Edgar Vargas, a 41-year-old man, was fatally shot in Bellflower, California. Deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department responded to reports of a shooting around 1:25 a.m. in the 9000 block of Artesia Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found Vargas on the sidewalk, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly thereafter.
