On December 20, 2023, at approximately 8:09 p.m., Long Beach Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered 36-year-old Korey Brown suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. Officers administered medical aid until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and transported Brown to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
