On December 27, 2023, in Miramonte, California, 37-year-old Se Vang and her husband, Lue Yang, were tragically killed in their home. Their 14-year-old son initially reported to authorities that an intruder had broken into their residence and attacked his parents and 11-year-old sister before fleeing the scene. Upon arrival, deputies found both parents deceased and the daughter critically injured; she was promptly transported to a hospital for emergency surgery and is expected to survive.
As the investigation progressed, detectives identified inconsistencies in the boy's account. Evidence indicated that the teenager had fabricated the story of a break-in and was, in fact, responsible for the attacks on his family members, utilizing multiple weapons found within the home. Another child, a 7-year-old boy, was present during the incident but was unharmed and is now under the care of other family members.
The 14-year-old was arrested and booked into Juvenile Hall, facing two charges of murder and one charge of attempted murder. Due to his status as a minor, his identity has not been disclosed publicly. Authorities have not yet determined a motive for the crimes, and the investigation remains ongoing. The Fresno County District Attorney’s Office is currently reviewing the case.
