Deshawnda Sanchez, a 21-year-old transgender woman, tragically lost her life on December 3, 2014, in South Los Angeles. Known affectionately as "Ta-Ta," Sanchez was shot while desperately seeking help by pounding on the door of a home in the Chesterfield Square neighborhood.
