On the evening of December 18, 2024, at approximately 9:14 p.m., deputies from the Hendricks County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a shooting at the Steeplechase at Shiloh Crossing Apartments, located in the 200 block of Fairmount Court in Avon, Indiana. Upon arrival, they discovered 22-year-old Jarell Spires suffering from a gunshot wound. Spires was immediately transported to IU West Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
