On January 24, 2024, at approximately 3:17 a.m., Anaheim Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 200 block of East Wakefield Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found 49-year-old Anaheim resident Marcy Aguilar collapsed on the porch of an apartment, suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel transported Aguilar to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
As the one-year anniversary of Aguilar's death approaches, the case remains unsolved. Anaheim Police Department (APD) homicide detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting but have not publicly disclosed specific details due to the ongoing nature of the investigation. Detectives believe there are additional witnesses with critical information that could assist in solving the case and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
To date, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified in connection with Aguilar's death.
