Jorge Becerra-Vera, a 40-year-old resident of Stanton, California, tragically lost his life on March 18, 2022, in Anaheim. On that fateful evening, Becerra-Vera was at a strip mall located on the 1300 block of South Euclid Street. While shopping, he became aware of a loud verbal dispute between a man and a woman in the parking lot. The man involved in the argument was identified as Adalid Arcigaplancarte, a 52-year-old resident of Anaheim.
Becerra-Vera, who did not attempt to intervene in the argument, was merely observing the commotion when Arcigaplancarte noticed him watching. Without any provocation, Arcigaplancarte confronted Becerra-Vera and fatally shot him. Becerra-Vera was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The following day, on March 19, 2022, Anaheim police arrested Adalid Arcigaplancarte in Santa Ana.
