On the evening of May 24, 2024, Anaheim Police Dispatch received reports of a shooting at approximately 7 p.m. in the 900 block of South Anaheim Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers discovered 38-year-old Jesse Barragan, a male resident of Anaheim, unresponsive in a liquor store parking lot. Barragan had sustained at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities immediately launched a homicide investigation into the incident.
