On the night of February 23, 2024, Abel Lopez, a 33-year-old resident of Los Angeles, was fatally shot in the unincorporated Willowbrook area. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department deputies from the Century Station responded to reports of gunfire around 11:35 p.m. at the intersection of Willowbrook Avenue and East 119th Street.
