On August 11, 2024, at approximately 3:20 a.m., 53-year-old Craig Christy was fatally shot near the intersection of 89th Street and Broadway in South Los Angeles. Upon arrival, Los Angeles Police Department officers found Christy inside his vehicle, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including a fatal shot to the face. The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner later confirmed his identity and determined the manner of death to be homicide, caused by multiple gunshot wounds.
