Alejandro Diaz, a 45-year-old off-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy, was fatally shot on August 15, 2023, at the Sierra Lakes Golf Club in Fontana, California. The incident began when Diaz's wife reported to the authorities that he had fired a gun inside their home. Responding to the call, Fontana police officers found Diaz at the golf course, where he allegedly pointed a gun at them, prompting the officers to open fire. Diaz was pronounced dead at the scene.
