Todd Jerome Washington, a 32-year-old man, was tragically killed on October 11, 2019, in the Athens area of South Los Angeles. Washington was pronounced dead at the hospital later that day, with the cause of death listed as multiple gunshot wounds.
The trio had been attending a large gathering at Chester Washington Golf Course the evening before and were returning to Washington's car when the shooting occurred. Investigators suspect that both this shooting and another earlier incident at the same gathering, which injured one person, involved gang members. However, there is no evidence that Washington and his friends were involved in the first shooting. The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has been investigating the case, but as of now, no arrests have been made, and no suspects have been publicly identified.
