According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner's records, Castle was shot near 109th and Figueroa streets in the Vermont Vista neighborhood. The incident occurred in the evening, and Castle succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The circumstances surrounding his death were immediately classified as a homicide, prompting an investigation by local law enforcement.
