On September 21, 2024, 12-year-old Santino Contreras was fatally shot in Sacramento, California. The incident occurred in the early evening near the intersection of Florin Road and Franklin Boulevard, a location known for its bustling commercial activity. Santino was reportedly walking home from a nearby convenience store when he was struck by gunfire. Emergency responders arrived promptly and transported him to UC Davis Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
