On October 4, 2024, at approximately 2:41 a.m., a tragic shooting occurred near the intersection of Westside Road and Meadowbrook Drive in Redding, California. The incident resulted in the deaths of two individuals: 30-year-old Winfred "Bookie" Avant Jr. and 22-year-old Isaiah Jacob Stanley, both residents of Redding. Three other adults sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the shooting and were transported to a local hospital for treatment.
