On October 19, 2024, at approximately 6:03 p.m., Richmond Police responded to a report of a gunshot in the 400 block of 21st Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 28-year-old Richmond resident Geovanni Ortiz Gutierrez inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical responders pronounced him deceased at the scene around 6:15 p.m.
