On October 27, 2024, at approximately 3 a.m., the Bakersfield Police Department responded to a welfare check request at a residence on the 7500 block of Lordsburg Drive in southwest Bakersfield, California. Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of 43-year-old Liliana Martinez-Duran and 43-year-old Monique Soila Duran inside the home. Both women had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
