Death by Force

On January 14, 2023, 32-year-old Fredrick Leon Sparks was fatally shot in South Nashville. Metro Nashville Police Department officers responded to a shooting call around 10:45 p.m. in the 900 block of Cannon Street, located in the Napier-Sudekum area. Upon arrival, they found Sparks outside an apartment, suffering from a single gunshot wound. He was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
