In the quiet neighborhood of Pritchett Drive in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, a promising life was tragically cut short on the evening of February 1, 2023. Kendall Daron Storay, a 20-year-old male, was fatally shot during what investigators believe was an attempted robbery.
Around 5:55 p.m., Storay was seated in the passenger seat of a black Infiniti sedan alongside the driver. The two had arranged to meet with a pair of individuals on Pritchett Drive.
When the two males arrived, they entered the vehicle, produced a firearm, and proceeded to try and rob Storay and the driver. In the ensuing moments, a shot was fired, striking Kendall Storay.
Immediately following the shooting, the two assailants fled the scene on foot, disappearing into the surrounding area. Emergency services were called to the scene, and first responders provided life-saving care to Storay before he was transported to Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital. Despite their efforts, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
Authorities have stated that they believe this was an isolated incident and that there is no immediate danger to the residents of the neighborhood. As of the latest reports, no arrests have been made in connection with the death of Kendall Storay. The suspects, described only as two males, remain at large. The Murfreesboro Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division homicide detectives are actively investigating the case and have appealed to the public for any information that might lead to the identification and apprehension of those responsible.
