In the early morning hours of June 14, 2023, the life of 24-year-old Cordarrius DeQuan 'Bo' Bailey, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. At approximately 5:30 a.m., Chattanooga Police responded to a report of gunfire in the 900 block of North Orchard Knob Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Bailey suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Cordarrius, born on July 27, 1998, was the youngest of four siblings and the only son. He was a graduate of Brainerd High School and an active member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where he participated in the Youth Choir and Sunday School. Remembered for his involvement in baseball, football, soccer, and track, his death left a significant void in his community and among his extensive family.
The investigation into Bailey's death led to the arrest of 24-year-old Terry Scott Anderson on July 14, 2023. Anderson was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting that occurred at 962 North Orchard Knob Avenue. Later, on November 21, 2025, the Chattanooga Police Department announced a second arrest in the case. Arterrius Allen, born on April 13, 1989, was also charged with one count of first-degree murder. Both suspects were taken to the Hamilton County Jail. While arrests have been made, the motive behind the shooting has not been publicly disclosed by authorities. The case against both men is pending in the criminal justice system.
