On June 30, 2023, at approximately 6:20 p.m., 53-year-old William R. Chillis was shot after answering the door of his home in the 2100 block of Wilson Road in Memphis, Tennessee. His wife, Machelle, was working from home at the time and heard the gunshots. She found her husband lying in the entryway, having sustained gunshot wounds to the head and mouth.
