On August 21, 2023, 19-year-old Jalen Murray was fatally shot in an alley near Edith Avenue and South Orleans Street in the Soulsville area of Memphis, Tennessee. Responding to a 911 call around 12:15 p.m., Memphis Police officers found Murray with gunshot wounds; he was transported to Regional One Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
