On August 27, 2023, 22-year-old Charlisa Monique Reed was fatally shot in downtown Memphis, Tennessee. After spending an evening out with a friend, Reed was returning to her car near the intersection of South Main and Pontotoc Street just before 3 a.m. As she entered her vehicle, a light-gray Dodge Charger with tinted windows approached, and shots were fired from the passenger side, striking Reed multiple times.
